I know many of you value that my designs are created by hand, with care and experience behind every piece. It's something that is often discussed now more than ever with AI prompts being used to design with in place of human involvement.
The Unconventional Difference is noticeable. From every design being worked on by hand, therefore NOT a pattern mill, it makes your stitch journey better. The personalised customer service. The small business aspect meaning you aren't just a number. The true to mock-up to stitch experience so you know what you're getting. It all melds in to give you a fantastic stitch adventure from first stitch, to mounting it on the wall. But I face an ever-growing problem. AI.
In today’s market, where AI-generated designs are becoming more common, continuing to create original work like this is only possible with ongoing customer support. Choosing where you shop has a direct impact on what kind of work can exist. Designs made using AI art are growing and that is due, at least in my humble opinion, to huge support from shoppers as well as the financial benefits for designers moving away from the human model.
It isn't just my world that is being swamped with AI. My artists as well are seeing themselves must work harder to remain visible in a world that officially has more AI generated content online than human made. That's very significant, especially given the short time AI has been around. So, I ask myself, and I ask you to ask yourself, do you want human art to die and vanish, or do you want to see beautiful human made art dominate and flourish? To see artists make a living rather than trying to survive off exposure being drowned out by AI programs trained on their life’s work without permission?
If you’d like to see handmade, human-created designs continue, supporting independent designers who are and have always been AI free through purchases and shares truly makes a difference.
